The 2017 ADG, PDGA and World Disc Golf Tours kick off on January 26th in Perth at the 2017 Aussie Open. The tournament is once again a PDGA Major and will feature the world’s best disc golfers playing at this high calibre event.
The line up for the Men’s Open division is already looking very exciting with likes of 4-time world champion Paul McBeth and reigning world champion Ricky Wysocki signed up to compete.
European champion Simon Lizotte and 2008 world champion Dave Feldberg will both be enjoying a comeback after a stint on the sidelines with injuries. When you throw in 2-time Finnish champion Pasi Koivu and the in form Eagle McMahon, it’s really anyone’s to win. Oh, did we mention Innova’s Gregg Barsby and Philo ‘Albatross’ Brathwate?
Buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride!
The Aussie Open is also an A-Tier on the ADG Tour, and Pro and Amateur players from around Australia are welcome to attend and compete. The tournament offers five divisions of competition: three Pro divisions (MPO, FPO, MPM) and two Am divisions (MA1, FA1).
Experience Western Australia’s hospitality, wildlife, and the majestic beauty, in addition to playing on one of the world’s premiere disc golf courses.
The host hotel at Sorrento Beach offers various accommodation options from standard hotel rooms with ocean view to two or three bedroom apartments near the beach which can be shared with large groups of people. People staying at the hotel will be able to walk out their door and be on the beach in seconds.
The opening night of the tournament also happens to be Australia Day. After the first day of play concludes, players will head down to the Swan River and join the party at the Australia Day Skyworks celebration.
