Spring had sprung with blossoms & wattles everywhere but recent snow in the mountains & strong winds, 30 to 50 kph made for a chilly welcome to BSF 06. Thankfully the forecast rain missed the Woden area with only a few drops blown in during the day. The old layout was played for both rounds & no records were set. The most notable highlight of the day was a near ace by Christian on the 1st hole in the second round when his drive hit basket.

The Swede-Sydney team took the top three places followed by locals Christian, Andrew & Albert (from the outer canberra suburb ‘the Gong’).

In women Kathrine Centler scored 175 (83, 92), Imogene Jubb 96.
In men’s there were none better than Kurt Karlsson who scored 56 & 54 for a total of 110, 2nd on 119 was Erik Dahl (58, 61), third was Luke Williams with 124, (60 & 64).

Other highlights in round 1 were the players who score twos:
Kurt on holes 8, 9 & 15; Erik on #3, 11 & 13; Christian & Paul on #1; Ian & Richard on #3.
In round 2 the only twos were scored by Kurt on  holes 3, 8, 10 & 13; Erik on #1 & 11; Christian , Andrew D & Richard also on #1; Peter on #11.
The most difficult hole in round 1 with high player scores was #5 with one 10, three 9’s & six 7’s; in rd2 players improved on the dreaded 5th hole with only two 7’s & three 6’s as the worse scores.
