Hail Caesar the New ’06 Sizzler Champ
It was a great day, the morning was cool but it soon heated up & strong winds in the afternoon made the 2nd round a real test of disc skills. 22 players attended a interstate & international event, with 6 from NSW, 4 from Vic, 3 from USA (Scott, Ruben & Sam) & 1 from UK, Steve.

It was an exciting leaders contest with Kurt Karlsson leading by 4 from Scott Caesar after the 1st round. Then by the 9th hole in Rd2 it was Kurt on 84, Scott on 86. They both parred holes 10 & 11, Scott birdies 12 & 13 while Kurt pars both, #14 Kurt eagles & Scott got a bogey, then #15 saw Scott birdie, Kurt par; #16 Scott birdie Kurt bogey (his only one this round), both birdie #17 scores level on 111 & then on #18 a par 5 Scott eagles for a total score of 114 & Kurt pars for a total of 116.
Thanks to all who came & played, to local Peter for marking Rd1 red tees, to Kurt for his discs shop, to Nick & Luke for their assistance in running a successful tourney.
There was 1 woman, Kathrin Centler with scores of 81 & 84 , for a total of 165.

There was a mix of awesome & awful drives & putts, especially awesome the eagles & birdies of all players.
In the awe category for rd1 were: Kurt’s score of 55 (new ‘IT’ course record) came from great drives & a run of 9 birdies for holes 10 to 18, after eagling #9; Albert’s long straight drive on #7 that skipped off the OB/road into a tree to leave him a difficult stance but still able to forehand thru the trees to set up his birdie; Kurt also got over the road on his drive but only got a par on #7; the longest putt had to be Cameron’s 40m on #13 for a birdie, the only others to birdie this hole were Kurt, Scott & Luke, Cameron’s younger brother.
In the awful of rd1 had to be Nick’s ‘OBs’ on holes 2, 3 & 9 to score bogeys, he also bogeyed #4, 7 & 8; Albert’s 8 on #14 which included going OB twice!
Awesome in rd2 were: Scott’s (a leftie) high long drive on # 9, that hit the left side of the fairway’s large central tree, fell safely into the open for a 30m eagle, he got another long range eagle on #18; Albert & Ruben also got eagles on #18; Kurt’s perfect cobra backhand roller on #14, which missed all trees & curved gently to the right near the mini-mound for a 20m eagle.
Awful & hurtful had to be Ruben’s TB on #17; then the double bogeys for Jim on #4, Albert on #5, Cameron on #7, & Luke on #10; it was the only DB for these players in the 2nd round.
Rd 1 & 2 hole by hole spreadsheets & player stats will soon be sent to players.
