At the end of June work starts on the upgrade of Australia’s oldest course
(c1984) – Poimena Reserve @ Austins Ferry, Tasmania.
The course is being increased from 9 holes to 18. 9 new baskets, tee posts and tee signs are being installed. Signage is being introduced at key points around the course/reserve.
The $10,000 upgrade has been funded through grants from Glenorchy Council.
The project is being managed by local players, Richard Sampson and Harvey Yarnall.
The project is to be completed in time for the coming spring/summer.
