AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
What a joy it is to have a permanent course! This the second weekend with the targets in the ground, we simply couldn’t resist running an event despite having no tees, Father’s Day and very short notice. Martin Ryland-Adair stole the show; starting with a course record 48 (same as Luke Williams) and then following up with the first ever ace on this course: hole 7, from the short tee (174g dyed Champion Teebird). His game crumbled towards the end loosing 7 strokes over the last 7 holes to Kurt Karlsson who set a new course record (45) but Martin was still quite satisfied, noting that the ace was not only the first at the course, it was also the first ever for him. Congratulations!
We played first 9 from the short tees and then the second half of the round from the long tees. It’s a different game compared to Macquarie; you must have a bunch of deuces and one must not have fours. It’s quite stressful knowing that after 5 straight threes, you have lost ground without having done anything terrible…
This was probably the best ever disc golf event in Australian history; the average score being as low as 54.8! Yeah, I know, small field, but still…
I was down at the beach before 4pm, fresh in mind and body and that was AFTER a Sydney disc golf event!
See you all soon,
Kurt Karlsson
