Macq Uni had its first taste of doubles disc golf for the 11th installment of Madd Macq’s Disc Golf.  The idea for doubles came about since there were only a few of us this time around (I take full responsibility for the low numbers in the turnout, will say more later), and everyone was keen to try it out.  The teams turned out to be pretty even, Rodney and I took out first place three strokes ahead of Luke and Terry and 8 strokes ahead of JJ and Jason,  for some it was the first time playing doubles and everyone had a great time doing it so we may include it in further MM events.

Despite weather predictions of rain, we had a beautiful day with 19°C and not a cloud in the sky. Unfortunately, our very own Kurt Karlsson was absent as well as Jason McFarlane, both were very sick. We played the newly dubbed “championship” layout, which was a nice change.  We had a couple of interstate players in Tim Marchbank and Paul Arden, both members of the newly formed Australian Disc Golf Committee of AFDA and unfortunately subject to my mad rantings during the second round.
