All I can say is that setting up a course with the new M-14’s couldn’t be easier.  It took me half the time that it would have to set up the baskets and I was very grateful for that.

Despite some pretty high temperatures (low 30’s, not as high as the ones in Melbourne on the same day!), and a major ultimate event happening on the same exact day (Ill claim responsibility for screwing that one up!), and Kurt’s computer blowing up, we had 8 new players show up to Madd Macq’s this time around.  The heat did make our numbers dwindle for the second round but we didn’t mind, we had fun.  Amongst the more notable things were Brendan Jones who could consistently throw a stingray 100 metres (don’t know many people that can do that!!), and Terry Jordan who hadn’t played a tournament in a long time and had me ogling his discs from 1995 Australian Disc Golf events.  Yet again, we all saw how easily Ultimate players could adjust to throwing golf discs.  Also, the course gobbled up a few discs for the first time, two in the lake and one was kindly donated to the Emus by Rodney Clark, next drought I am going in with rubber fishing boots!

For all those interested, I managed to put my ample time during a stint of unemployment to good use and made up a course map.  Its been uploaded onto the Yahoo! Sports group and will be uploaded onto the Macq-Disc Golf group as well. This map will soon be added to a course information page on this site.

Next Madd Macq’s (009 I think!) will be held on Saturday the 8th of April (or Arpil), a few weeks before the AFDA Individuals which will include two days of Disc Golf at Macquarie Uni.
